coming up in Monday’s video: the law of reflection

June 15, 2008 – 12:20 am

shiny metal cheese graterIn Monday’s video we tackle lighting shiny metal objects and the principles involved. Here was my challenge for this video: introducing a principle of physics (the law of reflection) while keeping everything simple and understandable. Now how was I going to tackle that? By photographing a cheese grater, of course. Doesn’t it all make sense? Tune in Monday to find out…

    3. Oh yes indeed! Graters are essential kitchen utensils. My mom and grandmother used them all the time.

    5. Ahhh, a grater. Brings back some memories. Back in elementary school we had a project to build a musical instrument. I couldn’t think of anything really interesting so my mother took me down to the discount store and I picked out a grater. When I got it home, I painted it with my plastic model paints, hung a fishing weight on the inside from some fishing line, used an old wooden spoon for a drumstick/grate-stick.

Memories … like a song in the moonlight …
